Alt-rock duo Icon for Hire have just taken to Instagram to announce something fans have been eagerly waiting for: a brand-new album is on the way. The band revealed that their next record, titled Amorphous, will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign that officially launched today.
The campaign’s initial goal is set at $2,942 USD—a modest target considering the band’s fiercely loyal fanbase and their history of independent success. Icon for Hire, known for their genre-blending sound that fuses rock, electronic, and pop influences, have built a reputation for forging their own path in the music industry after parting ways with a major label in 2011.
On Instagram, the band shared their excitement about giving fans a chance to be directly involved in the album’s creation, promising exclusive rewards and behind-the-scenes updates throughout the process. Amorphous will be the follow-up to 2016’s You Can’t Kill Us, which was also successfully crowdfunded and praised for its raw, energetic sound.
Fans can check out the Kickstarter now to help bring Amorphous to life—and if history is any indication, it won’t be long before that initial goal is shattered.
